The market sets the prices. People will buy or not, depending on what they think the availablty will be in the future for the item.

Personally I think Mr Obama is and has been this countries greatest firearm salesman, He has done for driving business than any other president I ca think, and that includes slick willie.

Don't get mad when a gunshop says they are not selling black rifles anymore.
All you have to do is look back at what happened in '94.
A shop buys an Ar for $400 sells it for $450. Next week orders another. It costs $500 they sell it for $550.
Next week they order one and it costs $625 They sell for $700 and on and on.
They never end up making any money because the next one costs more.

So the easiest decision and to not seem like a price gouger is to quit selling them or go to special order only status.
Same with magazines.

Another thing alot of you guys don't understand is Okla. has some of the cheapest prices in the country on this stuff.
In other states they regulate mailorder sales and gunshows and their prices are 20-30% higher than Okla.
so, when you see high prices advertised elsewhere that may not be gouging.

In the end the only people really making big money are the manufacturers and distributors not the local dealer.

There is nothing wrong with making a profit on something. thats Called capitalism. Price gouging is charging double or triple for gas or food or items people need to live. While guns are very important, if someone wants to charge $2000 for an AR and someone wants to pay that for it, Good. No one was forced into it. Only ars are way up right now. in fact, great hunting rifles and handguns are selling for exactly the same price as a few weeks ago. If they dont get banned, then people still have a great firearm. If they do, then they tripled their investment. Either way, its win. win.

AT least thats what we hope... I am still not sure. Whe have a lot of people trying REAL hard to get them removed. I feel if we get out with only loosing 30 round we will be doing good. Thats the only reason I haven't been selling a few.

Price Gouging is a socialist concept. In your supposed gouging the gouger is an evil lout and the gougee is but a fool. It assumes individuals have no self determination and are worthy of no respect. I've taken a lot of beatings on stuff I bought new and got bored with. What I paid for it was not the issue. What myself and someone else could agree on was the issue. I don't hold a grudge against the person that bought it cause I lost some money and I don't really care if they think they paid too much.

You are free to buy, sell or not buy or not sell at whatever price you agree on. I like things free and unrestrained. People may be eccentric but so what. Look at how much collectable items go for. $10,000 for a comic book that sold for 15 cents. Lots of transactions involve prices where sales price is 3X the cost of the goods. So what. When demand exceeds supply the price has to get into the pain zone to curb the demand.

Consider the consequences of the restrictions you would have imposed on all of us. We are all responsible for our ownselves. We should all be given credit to make and live with our own decisions. The government can't be your bully in everything to keep you from your regrets.

I don't understand your example...I see 3 gun "sales" and each shows a profit.

I find these threads interesting. While I dislike paying higher prices I understand that some people actually saw this coming and bought everything they needed/wanted years ago along with spares to sell should prices spike. I didn't get in on the Microsoft IPO but I also don't whine when I can't get shares at that price. If you are upset about the prices then sell YOUR stuff at deflated prices. Remember that motorcycle, boat, sports car you bought two years ago? Someone else bought AR's, ammo and mags.
