I don't want to bring the mood down, but this seems a thread where you all will understand. It is my sad duty to report that another Marine has reported to his eternal reward. My father, Ernest H. senior, Jr., who was one of the Old Breed of the 1st Marine Division in W.W. II passed away earlier this month. He saw action at the Battles of Guadalcanal, New Guinea and Peleliu (where he was wounded). He was awarded a Purple Heart. My childhood was colored by copies of Leatherneck magazine, the 1949 unit history The Old Breed and a poster drawn by one of his comrades depicting a vital battle of the campaign. I will miss him deeply.

Bless your Father. Semper Fi.
I'll bet your Dad had ringside seats tonight in Vegas to watch US Marine Captain Brian Stann, holder of the silver star, win by TKO over Jorge Santiago in the 3rd round in the UFC Middleweight.
