I carry a J frame. Always 5 in the cylinder.
Ah, c'mon, give him a fair chance and let him take time to chamber a round.
If it misfeeds when he tries to chamber it (as sometimes they will) allow him extra time.
I hope I don't get into a gunfight. If I do get into a gun fight, I hope it's a gun fight, not a bullet fight. Imagine two dudes in the street, in the middle of bricktown, circling eachother, holding their pistols by the barrel and trying to beat the other over the head with the grips. Come on...picture it....it's funny
I carry with one in the pipe and don't have a safety. I'd use one if I did, but I don't.

You don't need no steekin' tactical gear! Just stick it between your knees or firmly upside the BG's head and rack that slide.
is there any tactical gear can allow you to rack the gun with one hand? I saw a trainer did that with his tactical outfit.

just hook the back sight on your back pocket, front pocket , belt, side of leg...as long as its carried condition one the only time you need that is if your hurt or engaging
