Maybe I need to see if he needs to "relinquish" any firearms...

...after all, if he has Covid, he might die.

Woke up this morning with a good case of vertigo. Been staring straight ahead and moving slowly all day. Seems to be gone now. A very inexpensive method of feeling slightly inebriated! But very inconvenient!

But it was a great excuse to sit on the patio and watch the birds.

For a while on the cruise in 2002, I wondered why their tugs were so far forward of the barges. Then, I deduced that they did it that way so that the prop wash wasn't hitting the front of the barge, thus making transport much less efficient. Also, watching a tug in the harbor prior to departure from Vancouver allowed me to see the ingenuity of the tug operators in being able to turn a barge 180 degrees to load the other side. Those people know their boats.

Your correct. The air bubbles left in the water by the tugs prop would cause the barge to ride lower in the water and be harder to pull.
I've tried getting in behind bigger boats during storms and rough water so they would cut the waves and smooth it out for us. It was like putting a brake on when getting into their prop wash.

There is some over the counter medicine that will fix vertigo. I keep some around for the occasions when I get a light case of it. Meclizine.
Works for sea sickness too.
I woke up yesterday morning, put on socks the same way I do every morning, but when leaning over, felt the sciatic pop, so been in the recliner for two days on a Tens unit massaging that area.
It's crappie season! Need to be on the water.

Wife tried the Meclizine and said all it did for her was make her sleepy. She seems to get pretty good results from a daily Claritin pill.

We got a call a few days ago from our Summer work gig manager. He said that they are almost ready for us to head to Alabama, and it looks like the wife and I will be getting to do the entire state. They have decided to send the people in the other team that was supposed to go with us somewhere else. We are on "short notice" status, meaning that they could call and say, "Be here in the morning."

That kind of sucks because I was hoping to be able to go up and participate in a small fashion at tRidiot's fundraiser for women's causes. Being on short notice, we could be called at any time, so we have to be ready to go. They have been known to not even give overnight notice, and with us being retired, we are free to leave quickly.

All that said, we are anxious to go as neither of us have ever been to Alabama. Nothing like getting paid to go see new country.

Wife has been watching the radar images on her tablet for Alabama the last couple of days. They are getting hammered back there. That needs to end, because the wife doesn't like being prevented from working because of wet roads.

Good morning. (Oh, and Bassin...yesterday was Sunday. Your post came too soon for Monday.)

Wife and I got word yesterday. We head to the Tulsa area this afternoon to be ready for work tomorrow morning. Wife has a bit of training on one of the van's systems, and we make sure the van is ready to go.

Alabama is soon to be in our future. Looking forward to seeing "new country."
