A couple of months ago, I told you about an "adopted son" that is a SWAT team leader with Phoenix PD. A rare tumor was found at the base of his spine and he was going to Chicago for surgery. The 17 hour surgery was successful, but a few days later he developed an
E Coli infection that required additional surgery. In the course of that surgery, the nerves to his feet were scrambled and standing produced extreme pain. That has improved to the point where, tomorrow morning,, weather permitting, he will be flying home for the first time in over two months. In addition to his current position in Phoenix, he served several years with the 82nd Airborne, fighting in Bosnia, etc. This is a very fine young man, with a wonderful wife and boys.

If you have a spare minute, I would appreciate you lifting him up in prayers, good thoughts, or however you wish good things for folks.

Good evening all,

Drove back up to the lake house here on Grand this evening. The wife and I wanted to get here before the Artic blast and snow comes in the morning.
Found out when we got up here that my Mom has Covid again. So we will not be doing Christmas with her this year. So it looks like it will be just my wife and I and our two pups. Not a bad Christmas. Pretty much quarenteed no drama this year since we will have no other family (thank you, thank you, thank you) coming.

Wishing you all a good evening.

You know, that's not a bad idea! Thank you!
I'd be willing to help also. Not sure what part of the state you're in but I'm sure we have plenty of "stuff" that isn't needed to help them out. I've got an extra pair of snow boots - size 11. could find hats, gloves and socks for the winter. Possibly a coat or two depending on size.

If y'all do something at the store or whatever, PM me so can help if possible. Maybe some gift cards for food? Pay his electric bill forward through the winter? I've got some extra venison if he'd like it. We're all sitting here in a warm home with truly very little worries when compared to others. Someone that's willing to work like he's doing deserves a little hand up(not a hand out).
