Y’all be careful on the roads up there. East Texas isn’t supposed to get anything but cold this time, so we should be fine.

When I left in November, I forgot to turn my heat down to 50*, and I ended up with a $200 electric bill. I’m afraid that even set at 50* I may have another $200 bill just due to this extreme cold.

They have closed the Garfield County Courthouse and Vance Air Force Base. I stepped out of the garage for just a moment a little bit ago to put one of our dumpsters back where it belongs, and there was a thin layer of ice near the garage door. Thankfully I noticed it before bouncing my butt off the pavement, especially since I don't bounce so well anymore! BE CAREFUL EVERYBODY!!!

In other news, my dad got hauled to the hospital last night via ambulance (in Louisiana). They did a CT scan of his chest and found a "mass" around/in his lungs. They're trying to find a spot in a bigger/better equipped hospital for him now I guess...

Good evening all,

Drove back up to the lake house here on Grand this evening. The wife and I wanted to get here before the Artic blast and snow comes in the morning.
Found out when we got up here that my Mom has Covid again. So we will not be doing Christmas with her this year. So it looks like it will be just my wife and I and our two pups. Not a bad Christmas. Pretty much quarenteed no drama this year since we will have no other family (thank you, thank you, thank you) coming.

Brrrr. Just got Back from running a few errands and man it is cold. That wind will tear right through you. Everyone stay safe and warm.

Yeah all I've done today is drive the 2 blocks to work (and back home) and make sure the rabbits and chickens have fresh, unfrozen water and food and plenty of hay. And trust me, I've already spent WAY more time outside than I wanted to.

In other news, I have seen people out in shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. And in PJs, houseshoes, wrapped in a fleece blanket. WTF is wrong with people????

Hope everyone is surviving the cold. It’s not looking like much is getting done at my house today, because my hands don’t work well in weather like this.
