Newest update on my dad: he actually went home yesterday, AMA pretty much; they wanted him to do an inpatient rehab and he was refusing. I talked to him earlier today, and told him that everyone was scared he would regress vs progress, and that he was stressing my mom out more than necessary by being hard headed! An hour or so later, I get a call that he's now volunteering to go check into a local swing bed room. I told him a week or two there is better than 6 weeks or more trying to do it on his own. So we'll see how it goes...

I had my sleeves rolled up last night washing dishes, and my daughter told me I had something on my elbow. When I pulled my sleeve all the way up, it turned out to be bruising from hitting it a few days ago. I had no idea, because I don’t look at the back of my arms.

You guys have probably seen the tv commercials about not becoming your parents. Apparently, I need to take the training class. Yesterday, my wife and I were in Wichita Falls, and we decided to get something to eat. Our waiter did a good job overall, but he was absent when we were ready for our ticket. My wife noticed the tablet device on our table, and she figured out that we were supposed to use it to pay our tab. On our way out, I saw our waiter, and I yelled to him that we paid on the device while pointing at it. I really didn’t think much about it, but my wife was laughing her @$$ off by the time we made it to the door. When she mimicked me pointing to the device and yelling at the waiter, I realized that I looked and sounded pretty ridiculous. We had a good laugh on the way back to our side of the Red River.

Back many moons ago, we made a trip from the Oklahoma Panhandle down to Amarillo to do some "serious" shopping. Went into the restroom of one of the stores (big box type store - maybe Walmart). Washed hands and used hand dryer and went back out to wait for our two sons. I hear the dryer start up again inside, and then one of the boys came out and literally yelled out, "Dad, does this thing shut off automatically?"

Nearby patrons got a kick out of it, so I made some kind of comment that we really needed to take the boys to civilization more often. Farm life was great, but it definitely had its drawbacks.

Oh man ... That thing brings back memories!! I had a bruise JUST like that -- got my arm caught between the gate on a cattle chute and the edge of the side. Instead of waiting for my dad to pop the gate back open I just yanked on my arm as hard as I could. MFer that hurt!!

Today is Day 4 of this damned headache. I am managing at work but the rest of the day (and night) is spent counting down to when I can have some more meds and keeping company with my ice packs -- and the kitties. And Dawg. They love me and don't leave my side. Well unless Scott has food. Then all bets are off! Lol

Hopefully this thing will go away and I can get back to living my life.
