I looked it up, because that sounds crazy about not being able to use bed rails. Here’s what I found…

It sounds like your sister’s doctor needs to re evaluate his patient.

I'll mention this to my niece. We should be there in Amarillo sometime around noon. I'm wondering if this was an occurrence at the hospital as opposed to a care facility. If it was a hospital, maybe they have their own rules?

Ironic in a way. If it is the hospital's policy, I'd say that they have gone downhill since I was born there. Northwest Texas Hospital is where she was, if I am assuming the right information from my niece. She was trying to get my sister released to her house, even though she (the niece) has an immobilized shoulder.

Of course, as far as Northwest Texas Hospital going downhill, I don't really remember too much about my stay there way back in May of 1946.

I think they have a significant problem with the feral cat population. I think I read that somewhere ... :coffee2:

Hope everyone is having a decent day. The weather here is BEAUTIFUL ... Anyone else see the red sunrise this morning?? Doing a deep clean in the kitchen. How one person can accumulate SO. MUCH. ****. is beyond me ...:scratch::scratch:

After that I think I'm gonna spend the rest of my day sewing. Oh and I need to get a set of trays in the freeze dryer, too. This time I think I'll do mango slices and avocado chunks. I'm having an awful lot of fun with that thing.

I'm feeling pretty good; Grumpy is sicker than a dog. I'm not usually all that sympathetic to his plight but he IS looking (and sounding) pretty pitiful. Lol

I'm ready to do some gardening -- I know it's a little soon but I'm SO ready to start some seeds ... :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

@THAT Gurl ,

That was a great sunrise this morning. We saw it as we were starting towards a stop in El Reno for an oil change, a stop in Elk City to deliver the photo prints we had bought for friends, and then on to Amarillo to see my sister.

Friends in Elk City loved the photos. (I'll try to post them later. For now, all I have is my cell phone.) As it turned out the lady of the couple that owns the dealership had just moved into her new office and really needed something to hang on the walls. So, I think we did good there.

On to Amarillo and my sister, and she is looking pretty good and complaining more about itching around the arm brace she is wearing for the broken arm than she is about pain. She is still pretty tired, but she did have a night with 12 hours of sleep, so that helped quite a bit. A few more nights like that and she should be good to go. I don't know if I mentioned it here before, but she has had 20 different surgeries in her life, including new knees and an artificial shoulder. When we went to visit here after a surgery last year, I told her that with all her experiences health wise, that she was the epitomy of "The Iron Lady." She's a tough old bird.

Thanks to all who prayed for her.

Evening folks,

It has been a busy few days here in Phoenix. All the competition if over for our team.
We came away with 5 first place world champions, 3 second places, 1 third, 2 fourth places and 1 fifth place.
All in all, it was a really good competition for us. We are really proud of all of our students.

Wife and I spent our day off today up in Sedona, AZ shopping and sightseeing. The scenery is spectacular.
Pictures to come soon.

Now I have a full day tomorrow of judging and a full day Saturday judging then flying back home on Sunday.

More folks to pray for, and I'm dang happy to do it.

We got our refrigerator installed, and according to the installers, what little food we had can go into it at around 8:00 pm. Not starting the ice maker thing until we get back from visiting my sister in Amarillo. We head for there in the morning, and my niece texted me and stated that my sister fell again. She stated something to the effect that the "care center" couldn't use bed rails because Texas seems to believe that those are a form of "restraint." They are trying to get my sister "transferred" to my niece's home, even though my niece has a shoulder immobilized and will find it difficult to help her much.

I've had reason to wonder about Texas before, but this one kind of baffles me. What is wrong with trying to prevent someone from falling out of bed or falling because there isn't anything there to assist one in getting up?
Oklahoma rehab and nursing homes don’t allow bed rails either. FIL in memory care unit in Tulsa fell out of bed multiple times. Sometimes with injuries. They said the same thing as the Tx situation. They are considered restraints.
