Check one more off the imaginary bucket list - just killed a opposum with a softball bat! Boy went out to feed outside dogs and spotted it about 7' in the air on a gate setting. It was a younger one, and just sat there when we walked up to it. In my best Sling Blade voice, "I hit him two good whacks with it". Honestly one of the easiest possum's I've ever killed, and I killed quite a few in my trapping days! It was about 25 yards from the nearest chicken pen, so I knew what was probably coming later tonight, told the boy he made a good spot this time!

I must have a city possum. He walks the top of the fence every night but never gets down in the yard ... 🤷🤷 I know he's seen the chickens (because the light is on in the shed and the door is wide open until I go lock everything up at 10). I'm not real trusting -- I won't leave the door open all night, tempted though I might be -- but as long as he's not messing around with anything I guess I'll let him walk the fence. Maybe it's because there are no feeders sitting out?? (It's in the shed with the chickens.)

I'm ready for some cooler weather. I want to build some nest boxes and put in a rack so I can move the bunnies inside for the winter. It's my bedtime guys. 5 o'clock is gonna come early. (Trying to get on a schedule sucks ass ... 😒)

Yeah ... So the schedule thing?? I guess I'll try again tomorrow. 😂

I FOUND MISS PRISS!! My dad is rolling over in his grave! I was ugly crying when I picked her up off the fence post and brought her inside. She HATES being picked up. Odd ... She didn't mind it one bit this morning.

Tomorrow would have made a week, so to say I was shocked to see her was an absolute understatement. I have no idea why she didn't come to me one of the 947,162,399 times I've called her and been out there looking before but ... Oh well ... None of that matters now.

Apparently she was hungry. For a little cat, who typically eats 1/3 of a can of cat food twice a day she went to town. Ate the WHOLE THING. 😂😂

She is now napping on the bed. Bless her heart. Now we wait the 65 days or so to see if she "found a friend" while she was out catting around. 🤦

The last 21 hours have really sucked started off with my tractor losing power under heavy load. I suspected fuel filter. Who would have thunk it needed to be cleaned or changed after 15 yesrs. Was going to take the ‘72 El Camino for a short trip to tractor supply. First time ever it wouldn’t start. Stopped by auto zone with the battery to be tested. Its OK. may be the starter. I don’t know. Walked into to house. Little dog is very sick all of a sudden. Throwing up everywhere and will only drink water and then throw that up. In between carpet spot cleaning the cat brings in a baby cottontail and dissects it in the dining room. Cleaned that up. Dog still alive, barely, this morning. Cat shows up at the window with another cottontail. It was still alive and turned it loose after wrestling it away from the cat. Goin back to bed.

I'm laughing because I have one of those days pretty regular. Had a good friend tell me one time " I don't know how you keep going with your luck, I would have done shot myself".

OMG dude!! You've made me feel SO much better about my life! I don't have it so bad after all! 😂😂

Definitely not laughing about your mechanical troubles. That **** sucks. Bad.

MissPriss is in my lap. Everytime I sit down here she comes. She slept on my chest half the night. And the rest of it on "her" half of my pillow with a paw touching my head. Lol I think she appreciates home life more -- a LOT more. 😂

Well I have things to do. Too bad it's nothing fun. (Paying bills and housework. 😣😒) But if I get it all done this evening will be nice. Me, a beer and some steaks on the BGE. 💖 I'm down with playing with a little fire. 🔥🔥🔥

Good Monday morning gang,
I got back from Dallas about 9am yesterday morning, worked all day then went over to see mom at her new rehab facility. She is doing really good. With all of our family here and lots of our friends here that know her, she will be very well taken care of.
Wife and I are heading down to Dallas this Friday and Saturday for the Red River Rivalry football game. Then we are flying out of Dallas to Mexico on Sunday for 7 days. Hopefully we can decompress and get in some good beach time.
Then we will take my mom back to her house and get her set up there with home health so she can continue her physical therapy in her own home. So she should only be here in the facility for a little over two weeks.

Have a great one!

Busy day. I’m bushed. New fuel filter in the tractor. New starter and new battery installed in the El Camino. Getting the El Camino up high enough for this fat old man to get under was a challenge. Cat has been banned to the outdoors for the time being. Just need to figure out what is going on with the little dog

Here, but occasionally There.
Yesterday, we made a trip to a clinic in Yukon, and I now have an appointment on November 7 to consult with a doctor and start evaluation for knee surgery. The last couple of days or so, I've been carrying my cane when we go shopping or something where I think I might be on my feet a lot. It is helping keep some pressure off of my right knee to where it isn't so painful of an evening after walking on it. I hate using it, but I also hate the pain in the knee. Both knees have issues, so I have no idea how all of this will transpire.

We have 3 friends at church that all used this same doctor for knee or hip surgery, and at least two of those three have given good reviews of the doctor, so I have high hopes. Now I just have to get over being skittish about having surgery. In my 77 years, I've had a tendon in a little finger tied back together and cataract surgery, so only two surgeries in all that time.

We toured and climbed Tucker Tower at Lake Murray today. It was originally built as a retreat for Ok Governors. No Governor had ever stayed there.

Absolutely a stunning lake with floating cabins at the lodge. All ran by the Ok department of Parks and Recreation.
Eating at the Restaurant at the lodge tomorrow.
