While we worked and lived in Oregon between April 2016 to September 2017, we had the opportunity to go see some Redwood trees in northern California. When we first got married and was in California in 1969, we had the opportunities to go see some in a small grove near where I was stationed. After we left there in 1969, the wife felt that we might NEVER get to see them again.

Thus, for a short time there, she was a tree hugger.



There in northern CA, there is the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park, and besides the "park area" itself, there are other groves of Redwoods. One of the best is just south of the park area and is called the Stout Grove. The tree in the picture was taken in one of the other groves, but the Stout Grove was the largest.

I came home for lunch and let Easton in the house, and evidently, he had a hard morning outside in the pen.

Got up this morning to find water on the floor under the refrigerator. I opened it, and all the settings lights were out. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and it started working again…sort of. I’ve already moved all the frozen food to the outside freezers, and I think the fridge part will stay cool enough to not spoil anything.
This unit is just over 5 years old, and this is the second time it’s given us a problem. I haven’t got ahold of a repairman yet, but I’m sure being Friday that he won’t be able to get a part (if needed) until next week.

Is it a Samsung?..they’ve got a class action lawsuit against their refrigerators.

For whatever reason, it seems to be working again, and I still haven’t got a call back from the repairman.

I have pretty well worn out my Coronado leather conceal carry leather vest that I purchased from NRA before I knew better. This has been one of my favorite carry cover. NRA doesn’t have my size any more and have been searching for an affordable alternative. Anybody have something like that that works for you?

I took most of the day off and went deer hunting. I didn’t get my target buck, but I watched him chase a doe up one side of the creek and back down the other side. He got within about about 80 yards of me before he saw the doe and changed direction. I saw a total of four bucks and numerous does. It was a good day overall. I’m going to try again in the morning.

I’ve never worn that kind of cover garment, but I’d try looking on eBay. I find all kinds of obscure stuff I don’t need but still interests me on there.
For example, I bought a Morico stainless insulated mug in the mid 80’s, and it’s the only thing I drink coffee out of. They haven’t been made in 30 years. I wanted another one for my OK house and found one on eBay.

East of Canon City, CO is a road that takes one up through Phantom Canyon Road to Victor, CO. Phantom Canyon Road was put where there used to be a rail line going to the mines in Victor. I've had the pleasure of traveling through the area about 3 or 4 times.



While not important for this picture, once one gets to Victor, they can drive on over to Cripple Creek and along the south side of CC, look for a road called Shelf Road. Both are very scenic, and one can generally see wildlife along the way. That road from Cripple Creek will take one back towards Canon City.
