While we worked and lived in Oregon between April 2016 to September 2017, we had the opportunity to go see some Redwood trees in northern California. When we first got married and was in California in 1969, we had the opportunities to go see some in a small grove near where I was stationed. After we left there in 1969, the wife felt that we might NEVER get to see them again.
Thus, for a short time there, she was a tree hugger.
There in northern CA, there is the Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park, and besides the "park area" itself, there are other groves of Redwoods. One of the best is just south of the park area and is called the Stout Grove. The tree in the picture was taken in one of the other groves, but the Stout Grove was the largest.
