Starlink still operating correctly? I'm at the click on the box to buy the RV system.Other than a few more limbs down, I don’t have any major damage after the two storms this morning, but evidently, something really bad happened somewhere around here. Oncor is saying it could be be multiple days before we get power back.
Oh well, my gas cans are full, and the generator is running great. I have the frig plugged in now along with the Weboost, Starlink, and an oscillating fan. It’s honestly not horrible, but I’ll be sleeping on the couch in the living room in front of the fan instead of the bed tonight.
Tomorrow’s project is to wire the generator into the breaker box to be able to at least run ceiling fans which is something I should’ve already done.
My day has been a huge job.
We have 40 some trees in the yard, some over 125' tall walnuts along with some blackjacks hackberries and pecans on 2 acres.
Over the last 20 some years when the ice storm pruned them, they have had free reign to grow.
Should have taken some before and after pics, but didn't.
Got wind of an Amish Gentleman that had a lift and would prune reasonably, so gave him a call and got a two month wait list.
Danged if he didn't call this morning, saying he had a cancelation and would be here at noon.
This guy worked from noon until 8pm without taking a break or anything after starting with another customer at 8am. 12 hour day without breaks other than moving from there to here.
Some of the pruned limbs on the trees were 18" in diameter. These are huge trees.
I opted to do the clean-up to save a little money which could have been a lot considering how much was cut.
The tractor and I were out for 8 hours with debris forks I built and have one huge brush pile going. Getting off and on to fill the forks with what couldn't be scooped up was a huge workout in itself. The heart app on the phone showed climbing 20 some stories of stairs.
One more pile to clean up in the morning that's huge from a 100' hackberry tree and I'll take some pics.
Edit:
At the end of the day, he gave me the price of his work. We had agreed on one when he started, but we added on more the additional work, so the price went up just under double.
Heck of a bargain we felt. Added $250 to his bill as recognition for his dedication to his work etic. You don't see that much anymore.
