The best tamales either come from the WaMart parking lot or the dollar store parking lot, and if all the quarter panels on the minivan have the same color paint, I don’t stop.
I spent probably 30 years sitting on a 2X6 wedged in a tree fork, or a little saddle on a limb, maybe a ladder stand taking a ton of deer.
14 years ago, decided I'd paid my dues for roughing it and built a tower blind from scrap stuff. 4X6 that allowed company, mostly kids with a parent to take their first deer.
There isn't much more satisfying than seeing a kid take their first.
The neighbor with a LOT of land has a DMAP with an overload of does, so the focus was always to take does. His clients and their kids were my hunt buddies, some I still keep up with over the years.

Lightning hit my old stand, blowing a 12" hole in the side in the spring I'm thinking. An owl took up residence in 2021, making it uninhabitable then and in the future. (I've posted pics of the old stand, the feces, etc in earlier posts)
Last time blind. Go for it. Wife said go for it.

The rest of my hunting will be in comfort with propane heat and a place to warm up some soup and make coffee.
If I kill a deer, that's a bonus.
I've been amazed at how tight this blind is considering I had bucks and does 100 yards downwind that had no idea i was around them.
The old blind was pretty windy, deer 300 yards away going across the field would get a smell and bolt.
This Muddy doesn't have that issue.
