Bama took their foot off the gas and started just running the ball....It could have been worse I think.

A lot of "what ifs" in that game, but what those who are looking at all of the OU "what ifs" are forgetting that Alabama left two TDs on the field, too, due to penalties (I would have damned near sent #74 to the showers at halftime had I been Saban). Those stupid penalties resulted in two FGs after putting it in the end zone and having them called back. So it could have been better for OU - or could have easily been worse.

Bolton got straight up tackled on the Ruggs non-catch
Don't even get me started on the officiating. OK too late. HA!

They tried to penalize the wrong team (OU) on a un-sportsman like. They blew the non-catch call, and I saw one Tide 1st down that was spotted at least 2 full yards past the point he was down. I could go on, but you get the idea.

Nitpicking the refs proves nothing. In any game, pro or college, you can look back and point to errors by the refs that favor both teams. Facts are facts, OU played horrible in the 1st quarter and spotted a dangerous team 28 points. You can not do that and expect to win, regardless of what is called or isn't called. OU went this year purely on offense. When that offense sputters you get games like Texas pt 1 and Alabama. I'm glad OU closed the gap and kept it from a blow out, but facts are facts, and the facts are OU had no semblance of a defense this year save for a few glimpses.

Ref for over 20 years. Worked with guys that had bad mechanics and missed calls. Never worked with a single one that cheated. Now I've seen makeup calls and get the attention of the coach calls, but never worked with anyone trying cheat.
At that level, the ref's are reviewing every call and play at half. They are being evaluated and when they come out for the second half, they make some changes to what they are looking for. Instant replay has almost taken the flag out. After the game, they will be evaluated by their crew chief, division head, and the association.
No reason to make a bad call if they want to stay at that level. Also remember this is a post season game. Only the best are getting to call these games.

I agree but SEC refs still suck when playing big 12 lol

No disagreement here. I was simply pointing out to the naysayers who were saying that OU couldn't possibly beat Alabama and not giving them a shot at all, that had those calls not been missed it may have happened.
