I didn’t realize what he did at KU has any bearing on him winning the heisman? You must be one of the people that are offended by what he did. It didn’t offend me one bit. I don’t like what he did and don’t condone it but I am not a little weenie that goes on and on about it like it’s the worst thing to ever happen. I bet if this happened to someone at another school besides OU not much would even be said. OU always gets treated like scum by everybody. Announcers are always against us and so is the media. Jealousy is what I say.

And as for bakers size, who cares if he is 6’3” or more. Have you ever heard of Doug flutie? He is a lot smaller than Baker and he was an amazing QB. I remember him running over people in the NFL. A players smarts and ability can help to compensate a lot for their smaller size. And Baker isn’t even on the same level as Tebow. Baker is way better. Tebow wasn’t near as mobile as baker and couldn’t throw near as well. Baker has him beat on knowledge of the D as well. I have always thought Tebow was overrated. Yes he was good, but not great. Baker is great.

Nope. I don't get offended easily. However, I do think that if you are an elite athlete and you are in the running or even the front runner for an award like the Heisman you just don't pull the chit Mayfield did last weekend or this past year. There are others in college football that are as good as he is that are not having to continually apologies to the public.

Who cares if he is only 6'1" tall? Ummmmmm, NFL scouts do. Flutie? Really? Is that all you got? Where are all the other Flutie size quarterbacks today or even the last 13 years? if you can't see the trend in the types of QBs the NFL is wanting you are blind. Being 6-1 and 220 lbs with average speed is not high on the list of attributes and what makes a franchise QB.

Hey, you know what? It's cool to have an opinion on this issue one way or the other, that's what makes discussion flow. But we can't be calling people names over it and getting all stupid and in each other's face. Everybody who is getting high blood pressure over comments in this thread take a chill pill and calm down please. I have other things to do here besides delete offensive posts. We all have opinions, and all have some value, but in the immortal words of a fellow moderator, mine just happen to be more valuabler than yours about what I deem offensive. Carry on , but remember to breathe deeply and remain calm. Thank you.

Never been skeered of much of anything or anybody (except my wife). You name the ammo and I'm in. Heisman is announced early Dec., so I'll give you spot as the nominees are not yet listed.
You name the poison as you will take the bite.
It's a bet?
Ha!

You know what? I bet Mayfield still wins the Heisman too. Like it or not, the guy commands respect from his team and he is a winner. Mayfield will soon have a Heisman Statue of his own.

Just a few key points here.... I don't think you don't watch much football lol. There are two quarterbacks that are "Flutie sized" that are playing right now in the NFL.... both franchise QBs.... both have won superbowls. There is also another QB that has 1" on Baker and is probably one of the top two QBs in the NFL... he also has a ring.... also a franchise QB. All three of these guys have "average speed" but have the ability to scramble... just like Mayfield. It should be pretty easy to figure out whom I'm speaking of if you've watched football within the last ten years. So while you obviously have an opinion on the matter, the facts don't really line up with it.

In terms of "others in college football being as good as he is"....... well... the current Heisman indications and general opinions disagree and it's not even close. Doesn't really seem to be much discrepancy either but we will see when the votes are counted. But it's hard to see facts in Poke colored glasses eh?
