Due to the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln to the Middle East, the U.S. Navy has no operational aircraft carriers in the Pacific

“The U.S. Navy is facing a shortage of operational aircraft carriers in the Pacific, largely due to the deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) from the 7th Fleet to the 5th Fleet in the Middle East. This deployment decision followed a phone call between U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after a preemptive strike against Hezbollah on August 25.”

I’m sure our Red Chinese friends are thinking: “ConfuseUs Say: Time to strike while stupid enemy is sleeping!”

We have like 13 carriers dont we. Where be the rest?
Of the 11 active carriers, it looks like four are in the yard for maintenance (Bush, Ford, Stennis, Nimitz), two are preparing for deployments (Truman, Vinson), two are in the Gulf of Oman (Lincoln, Roosevelt), one is in San Diego preparing to go to Japan (Washington), one is in Virginia (Eisenhower), and one is in Bremerton, WA (Reagan).

It’s interesting that Nimitz is in maintenance, as she’s reaching the end of her designed service life and is slated for retirement this next fiscal year.

The replacement for Nimitz, launches this week. I remember reading something about this.

But, but, it's the one that almost got to stop WWII!
