I think it's cool they offered them up for sale. I bought a Glock 19M when I went in to buy a 19 Gen 5 for similar cool factor reasons. Those M17s are even cooler though because they are 100% the real deal.

I'd probably overpay for a USMC M18 but not an Army M17 LOL

Congrats!

I can't see how you'll lose money even though you may have "overpaid". Time will march on along with the value as long as you keep it all boxed up together in the safe.

The M17's are bringing $1500+ on Gunbroker with the last several auctions being around the $2000 mark. The last auction that I checked on yesterday was at $2500 with 3 hours left, but the pistol looked to be unissued. I paid a little under $900 after tax which isn't terrible, but that price was basically paying full blown MSRP. Regardless, I have a ton of respect for the fact that Wilshire actually sold their ten units for a modest profit instead of getting the maximum amount on Gunbroker.

The box and all of its contents are being stored in my safe, but I will use the pistol like any other. The pistol came with a small size grip module so I've got a medium coming from Osage that should be delivered today.

Friend of mine at a local gun shop told me he has one coming in. He didn’t know exactly when he will receive it, but was able to get one reserved from his distributor. He says I could buy it for around 835 (pre-tax). I’m on the fence.

Scored another one, but this time for well under MSRP. One of the pistols is going to have to find a new home, but this one will be the keeper. A big thanks to American Armory and Tactical in Norman for the deal and to Tommy at SSP for giving me the heads up.

Early bird gets the worm I suppose. AAT in Norman is my local FFL and James there gave me the lead on this thing last Friday and said that it would be coming in soon. I told him I was very interested, but I've been in Tulsa for the past few days and was going to stop by tomorrow on my way back. Congrats on your M17. I was planning on that one being mine! haha!

Sorry to hear that. If you only knew the number of hours that I've spent tracking down leads and making phone calls. If you are serious about purchasing one, I'll give you a heads up if the pistol from Wilshire becomes available. It's currently SPF.
