I made a sling out of 100ft of 550. I used the double width method. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

OK well lets see it because thats what I'm about to do. I think I will be using the dragons tongue and putting a king cobra knot over it so I can take some off if need be and still have a semi wide sling left over.

+1.... I want to make a Monkey fist but I can't find any steel 1/2-3/4" bearings locally. Anyone have ideas on who carries them in Tulsa area?

Go to one of the mines around OK., I got a bearing out of some monster piece of equipment they have for mine.

The plastic tube style come free in that crap yellow nylon rope they sell at Home Depot. The spike is the best thing in the tube....
