Sorry to drum up an old thread, but it's always cool to see some fellow knotheads on a new site. I just got into this stuff about a month ago. I've already made a couple survival straps with a quick-release, and about 20-30 monkeyfists.

Here's a little piece I did last night while I was watching TV...A tripled 5 bight, 7 Lead Turk's Head.

I added it to my Marlinspike to dress it up a little bit.

The survival bracelets are pretty popular and I bet you could sell a bunch right now if you made them in OU or OSU colors. There are Youtube videos on how to make them.

Allied bearing or IBT on Pine and Garnett. I think I would use a lead sinker. Lead hits with a really effective dead thump.

Look into making the bracelets with the handcuff key in them.

I haven't bothered to make a sling yet, because I don't need one for myself. But I sure can make one. Single or double Portugese Sinnet would look nice...

Wow, I knew it was good stuff but did not know you could make such cool things with it. Where is a good place to buy about 1000'?

I made a sling out of 100ft of 550. I used the double width method. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
