Pinto bean storage

Water weighs about 8lbs a gallon×5=35lbs ish. Beans would weigh less. Somecallmemom is prolly right.

I wonder what the shelf life is? Ive ate some old beans but I doubt they was older than a couple of years.

I found a bag of pinto beans in the back of the cabinet when I was packing to move out of my apartment to the house. In the packaging from the store. Not exactly for sure how old they were but I'm guessing somewhere between 5 and 6 years old, as that is how long I had been in that apartment and the grocery store price tag they had on them were from a store that was on the other side of town (where I moved from). The cabinet was dark ... and cool ...

I cooked them up ... they were fine ...
