The Channel 8 promo says, "How you can help police solve cold cases by giving your DNA..."

And what? Getting convicted? Ha ha. I guess crooks can be that stupid.

That's not exactly what's going on:

Tulsa Police Detective Margaret Loveall works homicide and missing persons cases. A new approach to solving cases this year is to take DNA swabs from fairgoers who are relatives of missing persons.

So if you're not interested in finding a missing family member, then there's no reason to even approach the booth.

Who controls the DNA and who decides that it is to be used for only idenifying located bodies or parts of bodies?

The only time I would give up DNA, for a criminal investigation, is if a warrant was issued for it.
