You're right that I didn't experience it. Maybe nobody should complain until it happens to them.

As for not knowing them. WRONG!!!! I do know some. That's where my mother is from.

Please don't hold that against me. I was born here in OK.

I didn't mean you personally, I meant "you" as in a collective of y'all without going too backwoods commuting grammar murder. My bad. Hope your friends/family came away unscathed.

But, I see this differently (as I usually do, mainly for sport) There is some idiot hiding in my neighborhood with a history of bombing and senseless killing, do you really want to stay? (Still a collective, not singular) Honestly. I'm stubborn enough to stay in and play COD, but that's just me. I wouldn't want my kids/wife around any of it (have you seen the bullet riddle houses?) so I would, for the sake of them, shelter in place until I could get an armed VIP escort out. I would loathe the idea of some balls tired/on edge coppers going through my house looking for the dirtbag, but I would go with it. (Again, by volunteering I'm not giving up a right)

Lets say someone is breaking into your unattached shop. You Chuck Norris up and run outside, but you've managed to run them off... There's a stranger walking down the sidewalk. Is he the perp or of the party?

We used to do what is called a "Knock & Talk" No one had to let us in, most did, even the idiots who were openly breaking the law. When we were told no, we either had an officer remain there on watch until the search warrant could be issued or thanked them and left. In most cases, we already knew what we were looking for at those locations, either from an informant or from observations. I am all for following the constitution, but I'd have to consider chasing the bomber to be "hot pursuit".. That said, I don't want anyone breaking down my door "just cause"..

What I find amusing is that several of those people screaming about the 4th would be screaming even louder if they had not done searches and the bomber had been hold up in someone's home and killed them before leaving. The point most seem to be missing is the "unreasonable" part. A known killer is a pretty reasonable reason to conduct searches.

They weren't chasing. they were searching...randomly. Probable cause doesn't justify house to house neighborhood-by-neighborhood. That's "just cause". People shouldn't be told how to stay safe.

Now if they'd seen Joker (yes I know it isn't his name) run into a house, that's a different story.

So you'll just shut up about the 4th then? I know what you'll say:
Well, it was justified. it is perfectly reasonable to conduct mandatory evacuations/searches because of one 19yr old we let out of our hands once already. Can't repeat that mistake, so let'sjust rectify our mistake by doing a blanket search, Oh , I know! We'll call it exigent circumstances! :patriot: God bless America...now back to Glenn Beck.

Oh and mods...might as well lock this up since I'm "cop-hating" over here.

Sorry for being too jumpy. The fb sheeple have me all on edge I guess.

I too would have let them search I'm sure. Given the circumstances. That still doesn't mean that me answering the door to 3 or 4 M4s stuck in my face and the fuzz telling me to keep my hands up while "asking" me would have made me feel I had a choice.
