I voted yes only because there was no button for "legalize it at the federal level and handle/regulate it much in the same way as alcohol".

BTW: I'm as conservative as they come.

If Robinson truly believed he was the subject of a home invasion, he should have called 911, Wilson said.

And if it had been a home invasion, I'm sure the invader would have waited patiently the time it took the police to show up.

This line of thinking is dangerous, and needs to be stamped out.

All is fair in love and war on drugs.

never mind all the lies about pot being same as heroin and the war on drugs is a total failure ... sooo you are saying it's OK to entrap an autistic juvenile by giving him $20 to buy pot .. knowing that autistic kid probably has NO friends and would be an easy target to entrap.

--------------

In criminal law, entrapment is a practice whereby a law enforcement agent induces a person to commit a criminal offense that the person would have otherwise been unlikely to commit. It is a conduct that is generally discouraged and thus, in many jurisdictions, it is a possible defense against criminal liability. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrapment

locking a non violent offender for life without parole for small qualities of medicinal pot is just wrong!

Missouri man still waiting for freedom after governor commuted his life sentence for pot

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A Sedalia grandfather who’s serving life in prison for non-violent marijuana offenses is still waiting for a chance at freedom.

Months after Missouri’s governor commuted his life without parole sentence, Jeff Mizanskey will have a hearing with the parole board on August 6.

Nixon commuted his sentence to life with the possibility of parole after more than 100 Missouri lawmakers joined nearly 400,000 people in signing a petition asking the governor to free Mizanskey.

“Why he wants me to be on parole after 21 years [in prison], I don't know,” Mizanskey said.

One legislator even introduced a bill for Mizanskey’s release after hearing his story.

Three Strikes Law

Mizanskey, a veteran of the Air Force, says he smoked pot for pain relief from his construction job in his hometown of Sedalia.

After his third marijuana conviction, for possession with intent to distribute, a judge sentenced him to life without parole under Missouri's three strikes drug law.

State legislators have voted to end the law on Jan. 1, 2017, but not retroactively, meaning it doesn’t help Mizanskey.

Marijuana And Depression: Teen Use Not Linked To Depression, 12 year Study Suggests

With states approving recreation and medical marijuana use, the drug might becoming more popular.
Marijuana And Depression: Teen Use Not Linked To Depression, Study Suggests

New findings published in the journal Psychology of Addictive Behaviors found that contradictory to previous studies, teen marijuana use is not linked to physical or mental health issues.

"What we found was a little surprising," Jordan Bechtold, researcher and a psychology research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, said in a statement. "There were no differences in any of the mental or physical health outcomes that we measured regardless of the amount or frequency of marijuana used during adolescence."

Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Rutgers University discovered that chronic marijuana use by boys was not linked to health issues like asthma, depression and psychotic symptoms later in life.

Furthermore, findings revealed no link between teen marijuana use and lifetime anxiety, depression, allergies, high blood pressure and/or headaches.

The most recent study was based on an offshoot of the Pittsburgh Youth Study that tracked 14-year-old male Pittsburgh public school students in the late 1980s, analyzing various health and social issues. Over 12 years, all participants were surveyed annually or semiannually. A follow-up survey was also conducted with 408 participants in 2009-10 when they were around the age of 39.
