I have an even better bargain for them. Business districts delivery M,W and F and residential delivery T &T Thurs. No more Monday holidays for them as they get every Saturday and Sunday off as a trade off.

I haven't seen whether or not they plan on keeping the post office open on Saturdays but a lot of people rely on Saturdays to handle post office business around here.

Another vote for privatization here.

I remember years back fedex or ups made a bid to do it and showed they could take it over and end up charging less to do it.

Why the government insists on doing things that it loses money on is beyond me.

Exactly. Anything the government can do, private business can do for less.

That's what they make the most money on. It ain't happening.

So do many of those who advertise via junk mail.

Junk mail (both electronic and paper) still has a conversion rate in many industries that cannot be beat elsewhere, especially for the investment.

By the way, it would take a Constitutional Amendment to privatize the Post Office.
