The Post Office is a perfect example of how a business is ran by the Government. They spend much more than they take in, it's ridiculous. The Post Office runs a Monopoly on First Class Mail. If the government would allow FedEx or UPS to handle first class packages, or better yet Privatize the Post Office we would get much more reliable and cheaper postage. Postal employees, or Government employees aren't held as accountable to those in a private business. I absolutely hate going to the Post Office. The clerks are extremely rude, and will find a reason to not take your package. If I were to walk into a FedEx or UPS shipping store I'll receive much better customer service. I could go on and on ranting about the Post Office, it's unbelievable that they can lose 4 Billion Dollars per Quarter and still be in business.

Just wait until we see those Obamacare numbers. It will mirror the losses that the Post Office posts year after year and will cost the Taxpayers that much more.

Like most government agencies they live in an artificial world in which money is spent on whatever sounds good without the benefit of real world feedback. "Oh that didn't work? Well give us more money to try something different." They are a great example of why government needs to be shrunk.

Their training center in Norman - plush and massively oversized.

The Saturday delivery issue is of small or no concern. I'm sure they can reduce service and close small post offices while growing other areas for their internal benefit and not that of the nation.

I think my carrier has been skipping Saturdays already for along time anyway, been trying to convince my wife of this for some time. We get mail everyday, except very seldom on Saturday, and Monday, we usually get double the pieces of mail.

You can't really say they are cheaper when they cost us all so many billions of dollars every year. It is like when the farm lobby tells us how great it is that their subsidies have provided such cheap corn... they are selling it to us for less than the cost of production, true enough... but they are reaching around and picking our pockets through taxes while they are doing it. Overall, we end up paying market rate, plus enough to line the pockets of all the bureaucrats and lobbyists involved.
