Awesome post! I just hugged my son today (nine) and told him he is getting so big. I have taken him hunting with me since he was three and it has been more like father son time eating snacks drinking soda and saying look what’s that. Just recently he asked me remember one time we were hunting and you were in the tall grass and I was bundled against the tree and I said son that’s the first time we went hunting. I don’t know how he remembered but he described the two hour hunt just how it was and my eyes began to sweat. He doesn’t know what we had for supper two hours ago but I hope he never forgets that.

Here’s my boy (6) using his nerf gun as a sniper on my secret Santa present, and my daughter (4) struggling with being a morning person. I started late, I’m 45, just trying to raise em right and keep them safe.
Started late myself, your in good company. I think it actually makes for better child-rearing, as I wouldn't have had a clue in my 20s

Yes, they grow fast and we do the best we can and pray that is enough.
Enjoy it while you can. Once they hit 18 and have their own lives, it gets even harder.

It is. I’ve gone there off and on for years. Not the greatest necessarily, but during the week it’s never too busy and the lady that runs it since her husband passed is super nice.
