Do any of you vintage fellers remember Double Cola? They had a little contest where there were letters under the bottle caps. If you could collect them and spell out "Double Cola" you won a cash prize.

That was all my grandpa would drink. He had enough letters to spell it out a million times...except for the letter A. :grumble:

I remember Double Cola, RC Cola, and Sundrop. I don't think Sundrop is available where I grew up any more. We used to put salted peanuts in bottles of Coke too. Not sure why.

I still put peanuts in my coke, about once a week. I learned that back when I was just a boy of about 8 years old.

Did you ever buy a Coke, drink almost all of it, and then discover that it still had residual peanut crapola still stuck in the bottom? It took me quite a while before I quit tipping the Coke bottles upside down for 'residual inspection' before I took a sip........

Yahoo!! Mountain Dew!
Hold on there partner! Just hold on a minute.
The most awesome Pretty Paloma cocktail is made with a nice tequila (no rot gut stuff like huervo) and Shasta diet grapefruit soda.
The original recipe is with grapefruit juice and simple syrup to cut the acid taste.
Shasta fixes that in a can, thank you very much!! :laugh6:
