Mountain Dew was first. KJJ didn't come along (as a retail product) until the mid-sixties. Of course, it was a fictional sort of moonshine in the Li'l Abner comics long before that.

It was also a fermented drink made by the two "Indians" in the Ma & Pa Kettle movies.

I found a Ski, soft drink bottle looks from 50's maybe. It is green, I thought it was an old Mtn. Dew bottle when I first found it. Just saying. Mtn. Dew in the Glass Bottle from the 70's would tickle your inards.

I remember Double Cola, RC Cola, and Sundrop. I don't think Sundrop is available where I grew up any more. We used to put salted peanuts in bottles of Coke too. Not sure why.

I still put peanuts in my coke, about once a week. I learned that back when I was just a boy of about 8 years old.

That was a common thing with us Southerners as I was growing up.
