I'm wanting build and sell an AR 15. i would be using mostly Yankee hill parts with a stoner barrel and bolt for the upper. for the lower a double star lower with daniel defense parts kit. i can make it for about 800? would it be worth the effort to build it and sell it?

Assuming you're serious....

First of all, I'm assuming that you're not an FFL judging from your question. Not smart posting on an online forum that you intend to build a rifle to sell for profit with no FFL.

If you're interested in building rifles to sell and do plan on getting an FFL, you'll need a 07, which requires ITAR registration with an annual fee of 2,250 per year and you must be a registered as a business. I'm pretty sure you have to label and mark the lowers with an identifiable mark of your own, but I notice that a lot of "home manufacturers" don't do this.

Another option is to be an FFL 01. You sell the customer the lower and then the customer leaves the lower receiver (registered in their name) at your shop for you to customize and built around.

Hmm, he didn't say he was going to sell it for a profit. Another way to take this OP is that he's wondering if he can build an AR and get his money out of it if he decides to sell it.

(giving the benefit of the doubt)

I wouldn't pay an individual to put a rifle together for me when I could just as easily do it myself. I might consider paying Colt or somebody like that to put it together IF I just had to have one of their rifles.
