I just got home 20 minutes ago.
Tinker traffic ya know.
I limited out and did not catch but 1 fish until 10AM and it was not on a stupid crawdad.
Nothing wanted crawdads or tails.
When I went to shad fillets and not large fillets they wanted small bites.
I began socking it to them.

I got another bag of ice on the drive home at 149 th and Choctaw road and they told me it was 3:55
I got a couple corn dogs and jalapeno poppers and a Dr. Pepper to wash it down.

Went through 1.5 gallons of water today keeping hydrated.
Bananas, pretzels hot dogs and a can of crushed pineapples in heavy syrup.
I did not know it was in syrup.
No spoons just eat it with shad fingers.

Still sound like fun :)
I did have the bimini top up most of the time. That sun will cook you and the reflection off the water.

I still have not got my land legs back .

@HoLeChit you are young you can take it.
It's not all that bad on the lake as the water is cooler than the "concrete jungle"
And the wind blowing helps.
And if you get too hot then jump in.

My car seats will dry.

That’s true. Hoping to hit the lower Illinois again this weekend. Have a buddy coming down next month and I’m hoping to get familiar enough to get us on some good fish.

Hoping to hit the lower Illinois again this weekend.

Here is something really fun to do on the lower portion of the river where it meets the Arkansas river.

Find the parting line where that Illinois hits the Arkansas get out of the boat and swim on one side then the other.
One side will be cool and the other warm.

You can usually spot the area because one will be clearer than the other.

Up the Illinois from the Arkansas there are many trees and you can get close in by them and put the hurt on sand bass along the shoreline.

I noticed that temp difference on my finder last time. Even ran across some 55° water coming in from some creeks or drainage. I’ll have to poke around the structure more, I was honed in on the holes near the Arkansas trying to get the striper to bite, but they just weren’t having it at all.
