I would appreciate hearing any details on reassembling one of these little Kimbers. The slide stop seemed unreasonably difficult to line up and insert into the barrel link. Repeated attempts resulting with the recoil guide rod protruding incorrectly out the front of the slide. Weird. I’ve been field stripping, cleaning, lubing 1911’s for 40 years with few problems, until this little 380 made an ass out of me.

Thanks Snattlerake, I was squeezing, forcing the slide way too far back, worrying about the takedown notch location. Making things harder than actually necessary. 1/8” back after mating slide back onto frame rails, pretty close to in-battery position, not locked open position. Just needed one more wrinkle on the brain. Very helpful, thanks again.
