I would say you found it. I use 24 grains of Benchmark and 55 grain BT's in my Ruger bolt gun and my groups look like that. Burns really clean and meters great.
Thanks. What length of barrel is that on your bolt gun? All I need is a little more trigger time to get more consistent.

I haven't had any problems with Varget metering, but I haven't tried it in .223 yet, only loaded .243WSSM but it shouldn't make any difference.

Idle I 've got 2 .223s both bolt guns a Rem sps w/1 in 12 twist and a Savage w/1 in 9 twist. I use Benchmark and bullets 55gr. and under in the Rem ,it likes 40gr best.
I run 68gr Hornadys in the Savage model 10 LE, 20 in barrel. I find the Hornady to be less $$ than Sierra . I load 25.5 gr Varget w / the 68 s. I'm shooting steel plates at RCGC out to 500m off a portable bench. Chrony avg 2910.
