Remington 783

As soon as Remington acquired Marlin Firearms they released blatant Savage ripoff named XL7.

Now they are selling it under Remington brand - for $200 more!

At least next time you buy a rifle, you know how much of your hard earned money goes towards "the rifle" and how much of it goes to slap a fat green "R" on it.

It is close but not the same ..the action is made stiffer by making the hole that the bullet exits much smaller.
They can do this because it is not a top fed boxed magazine like the XL7.
The 783 has a removable magazine...There might be other differences but i have not had both in my hands...

But 200 bucks for that...you be the judge..
