Just to show that I can do more than refinish a rifle.

Not a single part of this was hired out. I have done it all, the demo, the electrical, the plumbing, the sheetrock, the paint, and will be doing the trim next.. I'll put in new carpet and tile (under the washer/dryer) and the baseboards, when the rest is done.

Sadly I don't have a pic of it before I started. It was all covered in a tacky wood-grain paneling and ugly 1ft square ceiling tiles.

The white siding you see is the original 1950's wood siding from the original backside of the house. This room is part of an addition that was built in the mid-late 1970's.

The pics are posted in roughly chronological order up to the current progress. I am now ready to start doing the trim and crown molding.

Are you planning on leaving the original siding exposed?

Good work!

ABSOLUTELY!!!

Once we found it under the paneling there was no question that is was becoming the accent wall. In fact if you look in post 1, pic 2, you'll see that the bottom row and 1/2 are new. (Post 1 pic 1 you can see where it is missing and the remaining one at the bottom was damaged.) I found siding that matched very closely and filled in those missing rows.

Man, you do some neat work. I do not attempt anything to do with plumbing or electricity. I can paint, hammer nails in wood, saw a board in two...and sometimes put together cheap furniture stuff or something like a propane grill with few left over parts or nothing critical missing...that's about the extent of it though.
