If it’s structure is sound, it’ll be work but will pay off in the end. Visit Habitat For Humanity for stuff, sometimes you can get a deal there. I wish I were there to help you in the work.

Yes, that was a reference to the 2x4.
That's the back door, and I'm still trying to figure that one out...not sure if they bought the door too small, if it didn't get installed correctly (obviously), or exactly what led to that situation. The door is fairly new, we plan to move it to the front or side door spot actually, if possible.

Some progress today, and some cool finds...old school curling iron, tax tokens?, 45 bullet lodged in the wood floor under carpet pad...

I remember a house in Lawton. It was close by the Airport. Anybody that knows Lawton knows that area is not a good area and it’s where a lot of minorities live. Loud cars, big wheels, probably dumped more in their jalopy than the house is worth if they even own it.

A guy I knew rented a house there that wasn’t from the area. His back door had a 2 x 4 going across it also. It makes me wonder if it’s for similar reasons.. The house with the 2 x 4 across it, you could tell that door had been kicked in a bunch of times. Perhaps that’s why it’s a new door on the house you just bought.

There's definitely been some sketchy ones living/hanging out there in the last decade or so...never been a problem to us though

Some more progress since Friday, got most of the sheetrock down in living room/bedrooms so far; living room had paneling over top of it as well that came down. Next to last picture shows 3+ "generations" of wiring inside the walls; got a lot more wiring to do than I hoped for, but now is the time I suppose.

Last pic is new attic door I picked up from Ace today. We figured we would install one by end of project, but with the wiring issues we needed attic access NOW. There was no access point I could fit into, so now there will be; hoping to have it in by weeks' end, and start stripping out old wiring. The wiring issues may set us back a couple weeks from where I hoped to be by this time next month, guess we'll see how it goes...
