Replacing Trailer Wood Deck...C Purlin Instead?

all 4 brakes were seized up pretty bad so i went ahead and cleaned/regreased the bearings then worked the brakes free...talk about a PITA. Should have the wiring finished up today then going to give it a test run up to the lumber store.

DH made a good point about adding some angle iron cross members while its out and i have considered doing that...I hate to extend this project any further but probably would be worth it.

What spacing are your cross members now?

I ended up buying some 3x3x1/4" angle iron from albright steel and had a buddy weld 3 new crossmembers in a few days ago. Turned out good and really happy I did it...now the gaps are more like 17" instead of 34".

Also got the wood in yesterday and bolted down with 2 rows of galvanized carriage bolts (at about 1/3 and 2/3). soaked it down with a combo of diesel and hydraulic oil. lots of work overall but worth it to have a nice trailer i can hook on to and not have to worry about anything.
