"How about if people just start running around here, policing the city on their own? How much worse is it going to get?"

I say it's worth trying. Maybe someone can get one of those gun violence grants to study the effects of an armed and motivated citizenry on felonies.

The actual SDA law manual doesn't appear to use those terms but the references to the CLEET training material includes items such as "self-defense and the use of appropriate force" that should be covered during the training.

You're right, I'm looking through it and can't find it anywhere. I'll keep looking, but it appears I may have been mistaken.

"In addition to being exempt from criminal charges, ... because of the Castle Doctrine, the shooter now has civil protection from being sued by the families."

Good for them - PA has the CYA clause in their laws! :clap3:

What I found pertaining to OK... http://www.oscn.net/applications/oscn/DeliverDocument.asp?citeid=69782

Oklahoma Statutes Citationized

A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony.

F. A person who uses force, as permitted pursuant to the provisions of subsections B and D of this section, is justified in using such force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of such force. I have been following this. The family is talking about "they were good boys" and "He just wanted to pay his child support"

My thought. That is two Hillary won't get in 2016 ( they might vote in chicago though) and the taxpayers of PA have been saved lots of money and quite a few people probably won't become victims of crime. You chose the behavior you choose the consequences. There was something one woman said about everyone going around the neighborhood patrolling with guns. She said it in a sarcastic way, but the reality is it would probably be safer. Cops are minutes away when seconds count.

I'm on the guy's side, but he placed a great responsibilty on himself. I wouldn't enter a scenerio like that voluntarily, nor would I shoot someone over someone else's money. Having read the article I would say to the armed citizen, "You're a better man than I, Gunga Din!"
