Ya know if you guys are gonna put out statements about Rush or any of the other radio comentators, be prepared to post proof of your statements.
They have already done the homework and stand on their reputations.
Its no different than OSA. You instantly see the idiots, and then you see the reputable posters as they have done their homework and can stand on their statements.

Is this directed at me? If it is, then all I have to say is show me a talk show host who doesn't sensationalize current events to some degree. I like Rush and think he's an intelligent guy who knows exactly what he's saying and the message he's trying to get out.

Dennis,
My problem with Limbaugh is that he is merely a popularizer of other people's ideas, few of which he understands. Somehow he is a held as a champion of conservatism, when he couldn't even lick the boots of the real conservative thinkers of our time. I've read Richard Weaver ("Ideas have Consequences"), I've read Russell Kirk ("The Conservative Mind"), I've read Willmoore Kendall, and Friedrich Hayek ("The Road to Serfdom")--these men are among the giants of modern conservatism, real thinkers with real ideas of their own. Limbaugh is simply a clown standing at the foot of these great men, and he does not deserve the reputation of a champion of conservatism. Other men do, men far more intelligent than Limbaugh--men like Weaver, Kirk, Kendall, Hayek, et al.

I listen to Rush Limbaugh from time to time and a lot of what he says makes sense. Of course you have to get past the hyperbole and dramatization.

He used to be a lot funnier than he is now. From day 1 he's used satire to get his message out and that's lost on a whole lot of people. He's dropped some of the satire content from his message over the years. He actually is very brilliant minded and single handedly created an entire industry. Do you know that he has his content audited for accuracy?

And JB, he was doing the lortabs just so he could make it to work each day. He had a legitimate problem that required a very risky surgery to fix. He was putting it off, and well, the opiates did what opiates do. He got past it.
