I have a few things I'd trade plus or minus cash for a decent 617 or similar for a kit gun.

I also make custom fixed blade knives and can swap work towards the cost too.

It ain't cheap, but it's still quite a bit lower than the going rate. Finding a 4" or 8-3/8" pre-lock 617 for under a grand is rare nowadays. If you are not opposed to a purchasing a MIM gun with a lock, you can get a 4" or 6" through Buds for less than $700.

My experience is that of you wave cash at the owner.... sometimes they will come down a wee bit.

Yeah I don't mind the MIM parts and lock, I know the older ones are nicer but I can live with it. I'd even be okay with a older Rossi 3" 22lr or Taurus or somthin....
