Savage A17

Do any of you like this gun? My buddy just bought one and we shot some prairie dogs this weekend with it and my Savage BMAG. I shot his gun but didn't like the way the action cycled. Also had more than a few times where it didn't chamber a new round. Wondering if anyone else had this problem. I really wanted to get one of the A17's but after shooting his I think I will stick with my Savage BMAG. Semi Auto function sounds like a great idea but my bolt gun seems more reliable and accurate.

CCI makes a load specifically for the A-17. It is about 100 fps faster than other .17 HMR loads and is supposed to function better than other, slower loads do.

I just saw that ammo at one of our gun stores. That might be the ticket.

I bought one early in the year and it didn't cycle that good.Magazines are cheap with the cheasy plastic tab.Not a bad gun but wasn't that impressed with it.

Strange... Bought one middle of this year... using general hornady ammo... put 600+ rounds through it with not a single fail. I'm enjoying the hell out of it.
