I'm as opposed to this unconstitutional tax as anyone, but the paperwork isn't that difficult and it's easier now than it's ever been to get fingerprinting and passport photos done.

I will pray for the end of the NFA, just don't let it stop you from getting one if you want one now.
It drives the price up. Just me but I won’t buy one because of that and the hoops you jump through.
It’s hearing protection, I don’t get my license out when I buy ear plugs.

I do know the same suppressors that cost near a thousand dollars in the US are available off the shelf in South Africa for a couple hundred dollars. Folks going there for safari buy one, use it on the hunts and then toss it before coming home. There is no reason a supressor should cost that much in the US.
I used the same reasoning as everyone above for years thinking the Hearing Protection Act would be passed, but every danged time it was weeks away from passing, there would be a school shooting with the bill being tabled.
Finally gave in and did the paperwork getting two. Best accessory I've ever bought as a shooter.

In Sweden suppressors can be purchased over the counter, for about $30 US, when you shoot it out, toss it and get you another.
Most of Europe have laws that require the use of suppressors.

Here in the great land of the free home of the brave, its ya you can have one, but pay a tax, which is what its about, as well give us photos and prints, then after 4-6 people sign off on it we will give you permission to own one but you still will need to fill out one more form before you pick it up LOL.

The feds will turn a blind eye to foreign owned and run pot farms here in okie land, as well as shops to buy pot, but bust a nut over suppressors. Go figure,

My line of thinking is if the pot growers and users can openly violate federal law with no push back, then why cant gun owners?

Not advocating violating any laws here, but it makes me wonder what the hell.
