SBS changes

Hey guys,

I mentioned to a friend that I was thinking about changing the front sight post on my SBS, and he told me I couldn't make any changes to it, that was a stipulation of those types of weapons (SBS's and SBR's) is he right?
Seems like I should be able to change sights, install a sidesaddle, even change the stock if I want.
I might have already replaced the front grip with a Surefire. That's why they make them right?

He is wrong. You can do whatever you want to it (even change the barrel length). Ask him to quote you the regulation or ruling that backs up what he says. My bet is he won't be able to.

The most widely spread rumor is that owning an NFA weapon allows ATF to search your house without a warrant. I get tired of hearing that one.
