So how many of you are scuba divers? My family is going on another cruise, this time to Isla Roaton, Belize, and Cozumel. I am wanting to get my scuba certification. Anyone got certified around here? Who did you use and what were your thoughts? I like that Adventure Sports/Scuba Bros have a private lake in the OKC metro, that would save a ton of money from having to drive to Murray or Tenkiller for the weekend.

So what are you thoughts? Anyone interested in getting certified, maybe we can get a price break.

I'm wanting to get certified too. I've heard good things about scuba bros. I've spoken with them (er...one of themm I guess) and they will work with your schedule pretty well. That is a plus for me. They also told me that they provide EVERYTHING you need to get certified. Most places say that, then expect you to show up with fins, snorkel, mask etc. For what it is worth, I'm probably going to do mine through Scuba Bros.

I know people that have gone through Frank's but I've not heard anything at all about price add ons or anything else.

nDiekman - I will let you know if I go with them or not. When I spoke with them they were very professional. I want to make sure who ever I go with does not try to add a bunch of extra fees on to it after we get started. I would also like to hear from someone that has been in their private lake recently to see what it is like.

It is hard to believe that all of the Scuba shops in the area have not got together to make a big scuba park like the one in Texas. If someone bought a quarry it would really be cool. If only I had the money. LOL

I used to work for the Boy Scout camp in the Keys. Did a lot of diving down there and I'd say PADI is definitely the most widely accepted organization.

I got up to advanced open water, with deep water and nitrox certifications. Almost finished rescue diver too but ran short on time.
