I've not been to the big burn but went to several smaller regional burns and they are fun. Transformus (https://transformus-burn.com/) was probably the bigger one I've been too and it was a blast. Sure, you're going to see things you might wish you hadn't, but there's plenty of things you'll be glad you did see.
I sadly saw a guy that was messed up on drugs run into the huge fire at the end of the event and saw his dripping flesh as they were rushing him to emergency care after being pulled out.
No weapons though and why would you need one.
