49 DEMOCRATIC SENATORS SUPPORT THE DEAL

All of the party's leadership and some moderate-minded Democrats, including Sens. Bob Casey (D-Pa.), Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.) will vote for the legislation.
Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), a vocal gun control advocate who has been out of the Senate while battling an illness, supports the proposal. "Senator Lautenberg is feeling better and hopes to be in Washington for gun votes this week," his spokesperson told The Huffington Post.

6 DEMOCRATIC SENATORS ARE UNDECIDED ON THE DEAL

Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.), Mary Landrieu (D-La.) and Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) are reportedly undecided on the bill. Their offices did not return requests for comment.
Sen. Mark Begich (D-Alaska) has not yet decided how he will vote, his office confirmed. "He is still reviewing the legislation," said spokeswoman Heather Handyside.
Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) is "reviewing the Manchin-Toomey legislation to ensure we improve our background check system while also protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners," said spokeswoman Elizabeth Shappell.

NO DEMOCRATIC SENATORS OPPOSE THE DEAL

3 REPUBLICAN SENATORS SUPPORT THE DEAL

Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) all plan to back the legislation.

5 REPUBLICAN SENATORS ARE UNDECIDED ON THE DEAL

Sens. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) are reportedly undecided. Their offices did not return requests for comment.
Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) is "continuing to review the legislation," said spokesman Chandler Smith.
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) is "is still reviewing the Manchin-Toomey amendment," said spokeswoman Genevieve Rozansky.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has not yet taken a position on the bill but is "favorably disposed" to it, said spokesman Brian Rogers.

37 REPUBLICAN SENATORS OPPOSE THE DEAL

All of the Senate Republican Party leadership and some Republicans with a history of deal-making will vote against the measure.
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who was in negotiations with Democrats over background check legislation, will oppose the deal, his office confirmed.
Sen. Bob Corker's (R-Tenn.) office said he would not support the proposal as written but added that he is "open to supporting amendments to achieve what he believes is the central issue: preventing violence by dangerous, mentally ill people."
Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-S.C.) office said he will oppose "the Toomey-Manchin background check amendment. The proposal, while well-intentioned, is not a solution to illegal gun violence."
Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), who voted to bring gun legislation up for debate and amendment, told C-SPAN that he couldn't support the deal without several concerns being addressed.

So when all the far left amendments to the bill come up, why don't republicans vote in favor of them? The more radical the bill, the less chance it has of passing the senate and it would definitely be DOA in the house.

Of course, they won't do it. The only reason they allowed this bill to be voted on in the first place is that they are more than willing to gamble our rights in an attempt to gain more power. They want democrats to vote for it because they hope they can win the senate, but democrats are likely willing to give up the senate to chip away at the second amendment the same way they were willing to give up the house to pass Obamacare.

Those Dems up for re-election in Republican leaning states will not vote for it and risk losing their power. During the run up to an election, it is very seldom about the party's power but mostly about personal power.

"I will vote for [Sen.] Dianne Feinstein’s assault weapons ban," Reid announced on the Senate floor as the chamber prepared to begin voting later Wednesday on gun legislation amendments.

"I don’t know anyone who needs 30 rounds in a weapon to go hunting. Don’t people deserve as much protection as birds?" he asked, referring to laws that limit the number of shells in shotguns used by hunters.
