Took a lot longer than that for my wife and sister inlaw. They had to live here 5 years as a lawful permanent resident before they could even apply.Still don't see the issue with simply becoming a citizen. It takes about 2 years. There's plenty that have done it, and there's plenty of jobs right now to work through the waiting period. What's the point of retaining, "permanent resident alien" status?
In what fantasy land did that 2 year number come from? I've not known a single person that's gone through the process that it's been in two years. Granted, these are regular people and not the class that can buy judges.Still don't see the issue with simply becoming a citizen. It takes about 2 years. Same here, whole process can up to 10 years or moreTook a lot longer than that for my wife and sister inlaw. They had to live here 5 years as a lawful permanent resident before they could even apply.
