Still don't see the issue with simply becoming a citizen. It takes about 2 years. There's plenty that have done it, and there's plenty of jobs right now to work through the waiting period. What's the point of retaining, "permanent resident alien" status?

Took a lot longer than that for my wife and sister inlaw. They had to live here 5 years as a lawful permanent resident before they could even apply.

In what fantasy land did that 2 year number come from? I've not known a single person that's gone through the process that it's been in two years. Granted, these are regular people and not the class that can buy judges.
