Like Veggie Meat said, yes, the NRA has been (and probably will be) in bed with those infringing on gun owners' rights. One of the biggest complaints against them back in 1994 was that they were too quick to negotiate with those who supported the "Assault Weapons" Ban. They are also not particularly useful for those who like NFA weapons. Many have taken notice that the NRA all too often seems more concerned about maintaining their six figure salaries than really going after those who would strip away 2nd Amendment rights.

If it wasn't for this, they would have called Heller and McDonald for what they really are, rather than the "victories" that they proclaim them to be. After all, subjecting every conceivable aspect of the right to keep and bear arms to Due Process opened up a new market for Second Amendment litigation. And what does most support of the NRA stem from? Litigation (or the threat of it).

Here's an idea for BATFE reform: abolition. But you won't see the NRA or any other Second Amendment group that cares about survivalism push that kind of agenda. The NRA and other Second Amendment groups need the BATFE and infringements upon the Second Amendment.

Someone should educate the public that if it wasn't for lots of alcohol, tobacco, and firearms, we'd still be British.

Generate some ad revenue.

The car companies have been loosing money for years, so that ad revenue could be chewed up by thousands in ammunition cost, and you should still be a company.
"...Wise as serpents and harmless as doves Matt 10:16". The serpents always leave a loophole for them, nothing wrong with using it.
