Next Saturday, September 5th, is the regularly scheduled Practical Rifle Match at Oil Capital. This is the Second Anniversary of this event and its popularity continues to grow by leaps and bounds. If you have been thinking of attending but haven't yet, this will be a great opportunity.
We will have 5 stages for the match. Two of the stages will incorporate the use of pistols. Total round count will be about 70 rounds for rifle and about 20 for pistol. Check in will commence at 0830, walk through will be at 0930 and we will be shooting by 1000. Cost for non-members is $12.
We will begin match set up at 0700, anyone who wants to help is welcome and very appreciated. These matches are a perfect opportunity to evaluate your ability to defend yourself and your loved ones with your rifle in a self defense situation. If anyone has any questions about the match, please feel free to contact me. See You All There!

I have never shot in a Practical Rifle Match. What type of rifles are used? What is the preferred caliber....etc?
Any type of rifle is allowed. The most common ones are the ones liberals hate. AR-15 types are most common. But AK's, HK's, FAL's, AUG's, Patrol Carbines, etc have all made their appearance.
The most common caliber is 5.56, you can check out the below link for rules and some pics. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.
