I bought the original shift knob off eBay before I even took delivery.......... LOL. I hope it gets here tomorrow. That damn thing was hotter than hell this afternoon.

Mailman brought me the right shifter knob a few minutes ago(thank you eBay). Got the car back to normal and the shift knob where it belongs, on my desk. This damn thing is heavy, solid brass I think.

On another note, how are you liking the 5.0? I'm glad they got away from that 4.6, it was a turd.

I'm really not much of a Mustang buy but I have heard alot of good about the new Boss 302. Wouldnt mind getting behind the wheel to see what all the hype is about.

The 2011 is an amazing improvement. I have found the 2005-2009 cars to be really crude and unrefined, mediocre on power. Aside from the massive power increase(from 300hp to 412hp), the car just drives, rides and handles night and day better than earlier cars. I'm a GM guy, still own Corvette's and a LS-1 Ram Air Trans Am. I hate to say it but the 2011 Mustang is a superior car to the new Camaro.

I have a cue ball shifter in my truck and during the summer it's a ball of lava, but the exact opposite in the winter, it's ridiculously cold. I don't wear gloves, so all too often I'm shifting with my wrist that's still inside my jacket or hoodie, or doing the fingertip shift. There are more months this this hurts my hand than there are months it's comfortable to touch. If mine is this bad, I can't imagine what his shifter would be like. Sheesh.

well, i've tried that once with a metal shifter. didn't make any difference.

it doesn't matter if it gets direct sunlight. it gets the same temperature as the air in the car and then it has a pretty high heat capacity.

then... burns!
