The first pistol I ever bought was a brand new West German P226. I've owned a couple of other P226es and a P220; for whatever reason, I couldn't shoot the P220 for squat, and sold it to a fellow in Indiana (at least, that's where his FFL was). I still have that original P226, and it still runs like a top, despite the abuse it's seen over the years; the only feed/extraction failure it's ever had was a failure to feed when I was trying to see what it took to get it to fail--that thing will even feed empty cases reliably.
