Tuttle didn’t close. My kids are at school right now while the snow is falling and getting thick.

Honestly I’m a little annoyed about it. Not because I’m afraid of road safety, more because we rarely get snow and I’d like my kids to be able to experience it instead of being locked up in a building
I took my kid to the farm with me this morning cause she has been jumping up and down for a week waiting on the snow after we got there she walked around for about 10 min and said lets go it to cold and wet, then she got her first driving lesson cause i had to take the tractor and drag use out to higher ground to get out, she was nearly in a full panic attach after that but i talked to her and calmed her down told her she done a really good job following the tractor for the first time.

We never had a snow day. Got an early release 1 time for a flood, when heavy rain collapsed the lunch room roof during lunch.

D-i-L messaged that grandson wouldn't dropped here, this morning. School closed. I asked how would he be able to tell his grandkids about walking in knee deep snow, 10 miles, uphill in both directions?

I got up at 6. Clear, calm, no snow.
7:30, no snow.
8:30, wife gets up, says "it's snowing"
12:00, been steady all morning, but slowing down.
Been as much or more traffic than normal.

In the 70's and early 80's we got some good time off for snow up around Enid. Most of the times it was because the school bus couldn't come and get us out on the farm. Hell, we had on severe storm where we didn't go to school for a week. Thank goodness for propane, Franklin stove/fireplace and my dad was an early adopter of having a generator. All we did for that week was take care of the cattle and play penny ante poker. I think now days it is all about lawsuits if the kids get hurt. I can't blame them really, I see how people drive on snow and ice. If I had a kid I wouldn't want them on a school bus on the same road as some of these idiots.
